About the TikTok downloader
What the tool does, what quality to expect and where its limits are, in plain terms.
01
One TikTok downloader for video, MP3 and photos
This is a free TikTok downloader. Paste the link of a public post and you can download the TikTok video in HD without the watermark, save its sound as an MP3, or take every image from a photo slideshow. People search for it as TikTok video download, download video TikTok, tiktokvideodownload or a Tik Tok downloader, and they all mean the same thing: a quick way to keep a public post on your own device.
There is nothing to install. The tool runs in your browser on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac, so the steps never change from one device to the next.
02
Why save TikToks without the watermark
Every video you save from inside the TikTok app carries a moving logo and the creator's username stamped across the picture. That is fine for a quick share, but it gets in the way as soon as you want to reuse a clip: the logo covers captions, clashes with your own edit and makes a repost look like a copy.
A watermark-free download gives you the video without the overlay. Teachers use it to play a short demonstration in class, editors keep reference footage for a project, and creators back up their own posts before they change accounts. The picture is the one you watch in the app; only the logo is gone.
Keep the creator's name with the clip when you share it, and ask permission before you publish someone else's work.
03
How the downloader works
You never hand us a login. Open the video in TikTok, tap Share, choose Copy link and paste it into the box at the top of this page. The tool reads the public link, finds the file TikTok serves for that post and shows what is available: an MP4 and the sound as an MP3.
Short links from vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com work exactly like full links, and so do links copied from the desktop site. Nothing is installed and no extension is needed; the same steps apply on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
There is no app to update and no account to remember.
04
Quality, formats and file size
Download quality depends on what the creator uploaded. We offer the best version TikTok provides for a post, up to 1080p, plus an SD option when you want a smaller file for messaging or a slow connection. If a video was uploaded at 720p, no tool can honestly turn it into 1080p, so you see the real resolution before you save.
Videos are saved as MP4, which plays on every phone, laptop and editing program. Sounds are saved as MP3 so they work as ringtones or in playlists, and photo posts can be saved image by image or as a single ZIP. A short clip is usually a few megabytes; a full minute of HD video is larger.
05
Saving on iPhone, Android and desktop
On iPhone, use Safari. When the download finishes, tap the arrow in the address bar, open the file and choose Save Video from the share sheet. iOS 13 and later handle downloads natively, so no shortcut or extra app is required.
On Android, Chrome saves the file straight to your Downloads folder, and your gallery usually picks it up within a moment. If it does not appear, open it from the Files app.
On a computer, the file lands in your browser's default download folder. Drag it into your editor or keep it with your reference clips. The steps are identical in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
06
Privacy, fair use and what we can't do
We do not ask for your TikTok account and we do not keep the videos you download. Server logs hold only a hashed IP address for rate limiting, and error logs are removed after seven days.
Only public posts can be saved. Private videos, friends-only posts and anything behind a login are out of reach by design, and a tool that claims otherwise is asking for your password. For your own private videos, save them from the TikTok app.
Downloading for personal use, study or a backup of your own content is generally acceptable. Re-uploading someone else's video as your own, removing credit or using music you do not have rights to can break TikTok's terms and copyright law.
Not legal advice. Rules differ by country and by use. If you plan to publish or sell anything made from a download, ask the creator first.
07
TikTok MP3 download and the photo downloader
To turn a TikTok video into MP3, paste its link and choose MP3. The file is the audio exactly as TikTok plays it, so it works as a ringtone, in a playlist or as a sound for your own edit. A dedicated page covers the TikTok MP3 downloader in more detail.
Photo posts have their own tool. The TikTok photo downloader lists every slide in order, so you can save a single image or all of them in one ZIP, plus the slideshow music as a separate MP3.
08
Can you download a TikTok LIVE?
Not while it is live. This tool works from the link of a finished public post, and it does not record live streams. A TikTok live download only becomes possible once the creator turns the replay or a highlight into a normal public video.
When that happens, copy the video's link from Share, paste it above and download it like any other TikTok. If the LIVE is your own, look for the replay in the LIVE tools inside the TikTok app; what you see there depends on your region and account.
09
If a download doesn't work
Most failures come from the link, not the tool. Check that you copied the whole link, that the video is still online and that the post is public. A video the creator deleted, or one limited to followers, cannot be fetched.
If the link looks right, wait a few seconds and try once more, because TikTok occasionally rate-limits requests. Region-locked videos can also fail. The troubleshooting guide walks through each cause in order.
